Cannabis consumption lounges are similar to bars, but instead of serving alcohol, they serve cannabis-infused drinks, edibles, and other products. They provide a safe and comfortable space for women to enjoy cannabis without having to worry about smoking it in public or being judged by others.

Where are cannabis consumption lounges located?

Cannabis consumption lounges are currently legal in a handful of states, including Colorado, Nevada, and California. However, as more states legalize recreational cannabis, we can expect to see more and more of these lounges popping up.

What are the benefits of using cannabis consumption lounges?

There are many benefits to using cannabis consumption lounges. For one, they provide a safe and legal space to consume cannabis. This is important for women who may not feel comfortable smoking or vaping cannabis in public. What are the challenges of using cannabis consumption lounges?

One challenge of using cannabis consumption lounges is that they can be expensive. Additionally, some lounges may have strict rules about who can enter, so it’s important to do your research before visiting one.

A cannabis weed lounge is essentially an establishment where you can consume cannabis openly and without judgment–whether it be in the form of edibles, THC infused beverages and cocktails, and beyond. Typically, they are fairly social environments that offer other engaging things to do and amenities aside from a place to simply get high and chill, including board games, entertainment, and in some cases’ food.

Black Women-Owned Cannabis Dispensary

The recreational and medicinal dispensary is owned (51%) by sisters Loretta and Priscilla Foster, Black women who have been awarded a social equity cannabis dispensary license by the state of Illinois, as reported by Block Club Chicago. This is important because Black owned dispensaries are largely unheard of, and weed was just recently legalized in Illinois. Their website states that: “Cannabis is legalized in Illinois–Over 1,300 customers shopped while 25 employees inside, 14 employees outside, and neighboring businesses worked nonstop to create a memorable day for the city of Chicago. The mayor’s office held a press conference directly outside our doors with State Senators and Representatives who wrote the law seeing it come to fruition.”

Our teapad is a throwback to the ‘20’s and 30’s when jazz musicians, writers, activists and more gathered in secretive teapads to smoke reefer, drink, listen to jazz and share big ideas. And just like back then… you’re gonna need a password to get in! (pssst: its “Billie sent me!”)

Josephine and Billie’s wants as many Women of Color as possible to experience and discover the healing properties of plant medicine. Our dispensary is a communal, creative and safe space for both education and exploration.
